The Next Great Paulie Fink is a surprisingly great book. It's about Caitlyn, a 7th grader who is being forced to move to a new school in Mitchell, Vermont. She desperately misses her old friends and worries about adapting to her new school. However, her new school is weird, crazy, and definitely unusual. Her entire grade comprises of 10 odd kids, ranging from the girl who always wears pantsuits to the twin boys who play a crazy pretend game. All of them are shocked that Paulie Fink, the hilarious class clown, is no longer in their school. Caitlyn can't stand her school, but as she learns about Paulie Fink's wild pranks and her classmates, she begins to open up and enjoy it. It doesn't end there, though, because her classmates want to find their new Paulie Fink, and they pick Caitlyn as their judge. Through the crazy adventures, the engaging ending, and the amazing writing, this book deserves all five stars. The front cover itself shows how crazy and interesting the book is!About 5 years agojeffdaboss has read this book.

Ronan Boyle and the Bridge of Riddles is a pretty good book. It's about Ronan Boyle, an Irish teenager who works for the police. Ireland is a magical place, full of tricky leprechauns, odd humans, deceiving clurichauns, and more mysterious creatures. Ronan is awkward and scrawny, but he is smart and determined. He gets promoted to work in the Garda Special Unit of Tir Na Nog. While training at an exclusive police station, Ronan juggles multiple issues. Ronan works to free his parents from a crime they didn't do, learn the various ways to excel as a police officer, and understand the more mystical parts of Ireland. When Ronan is requested by Captain de Valera on a mission in the dark region of Tir Na Nog, he is thrown into a wild and unexpected adventure. This book is a bit slow at first, but it picks up and keeps readers wondering about what will happen next. It is filled with jokes and real-world references that almost everyone will understand!About 5 years agojeffdaboss added a book review.
